Brass Easel

"Brass Performance and Pedagogy" approaches teaching brass students in a musical manner that is both comprehensive and practical. Great emphasis is placed on the importance of genuine musical development as the most effective means for enhancing skills. All major aspects of brass playing are discussed in ways that help the instructor find the most musical, efficient means possible to help each student develop his or her full potential. While other texts address primarily the mechanical skids of brass playing, this work shaves how such skills are actually better accomplished when approached through musical means. This book can be read as a comprehensive approach to brass pedagogy. or separate chapters can quickly serve as references to specific problems in brass performance.

Atlantic Brass Quintet - The Boston-based Atlantic Brass Quintet is a five-piece chamber music ensemble which was founded in 1985. Early after it's inception, it received first prize in a number of chamber music and brass quintet competitions, including the Coleman Chamber Music Competition, Carmel Chamber Music Society Competition, the Shoreline Alliance Chamber Music Competition, the Summit Brass First International Brass Ensemble Competition, and the Rafael Mendez International Brass Quintet Competition.

Calamine brass - Calamine brass is brass produced by a particular alloying technique using calamine, a zinc ore, rather than metallic zinc. Calamine brass was produced using proportions of two-sevenths fine copper, four-sevenths calamine, and one-seventh shruff (old plate brass).
